Michael has over 20 years of experience as an instructor in mathematics, special education, and digital photography & imaging technology. He currently serves as the K-6 Math Coach and Interventionist for Ware Public Schools in Ware, MA. Prior to Ware, Michael worked for Holyoke Public Schools as a middle school Mathematics Instructional Coach providing professional development and implementation support for the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum.
Michael combines a keen, relentlessly curious intellect with a wealth of experienced and highly trained teaching skills. He is known for his empathy, calm and kind personality, and unwavering commitment to the education of all students. Michael's favorite part of teaching is seeing his students experience that "Aha!" moment as they learn math from early numeracy to Algebra II and everything in between.
In 2016, Michael joined the Western Massachusetts Mathematics Partnership when he participated in his first WMMP PLC. Since that time, he has attended numerous WMMP events and regularly attends WMMP admin meetings. In the spring of 2023, Michael led his first PLC, and that fall was selected as a presenter for the 2023 WMMP Fall Institute. Michael's WMMP workshops focus on Numeracy Assessment, Intervention, and Instructional Routines. This 25-26 school year he is serving on the subcommittee for WMMP's January 31st 2026 Winter Institute and is facilitating workshops and PLCs to support MTSS in our schools across Massachusetts.
